SUNDAY HERALD AWARDS

International Society of News Design Awards Seven prizes were won in total including two coveted silver medals, one for the Sunday Herald's coverage of Saddam Hussein's execution, and the other for Sports Editor Stephen Penman's portfolio of work, and five awards of excellence, including one for the portfolio by production Editor Roxanne Sorooshian.

European Newspaper Awards Twelve prizes were won by the Sunday Herald at this awards ceremony

Scottish Press Awards Four Sunday Herald writers won accolades including Political Editor Paul Hutcheon who picked up the title of Political Journalist of the Year, Neil Mackay who won runner-up in the Reporter of the Year category, Ian Bell who was named Columnist of the Year and Rachelle Money who was runner-up in the Young Journalist of the Year category.

British Picture Editor Awards The Sunday Herald was named both Getty Images Newspaper of the Year and Newspaper Magazine of the Year at this awards ceremony

Newspaper 2007 Awards The Sunday Herald was named Best Designed Newspaper of the Year

Refugee Week Scottish Media Awards Rachelle Money won the National Print Award for her work published in the Sunday Herald

The Evening Times won the Newspaper Society Regional Newspaper of the Year 2007 Martin Shields won Scottish Press Photography News Picture of the Year Get Glasgow Reading won Pitch of the Year and also the Chairman's Award at the Scottish Media Awards: Get Glasgow Reading also won Best Public Sector Initiative at the Newsquest Media Group advertising awards:
